Written with artificial intelligence.

Games for a Living (G4AL), led by Manel Sort, has raised €1.2 million in pre-seed funding to support its blockchain gaming initiatives. The company plans to launch its first game, Elemental Raiders, in June 2023.
Funding and Leadership
Games for a Living (G4AL), a blockchain-based gaming platform, has successfully secured €1.2 million in funding during a pre-seed round. This investment was primarily led by venture capital firms Inveready and Bonsai Partners, along with contributions from several business angels in the industry. Notably, the incubator Nuclio, overseen by entrepreneur Carlos Blanco, also participated in this funding round.
Upcoming Game Launch
G4AL is set to release its inaugural game, Elemental Raiders, in June 2023. This role-playing game combines action and strategy elements, enabling players to engage in turn-based battles using a diverse range of characters. Players can also earn cryptocurrency tokens and Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) through gameplay.
Future Projects and Development
In addition to Elemental Raiders, G4AL is working on other titles such as Millionaire Wars, which will feature NFTs in the form of jewels, and World War II Meta, a trading card game set in a metaverse inspired by World War II.
The founding team includes Manel Sort, who previously led King’s Barcelona studio, known for developing Candy Crush. The team also comprises Javier León, an Emmy-nominated art director; Christian Gascons, COO and former Blizzard Entertainment employee; and Marc Tormo, a design director with experience at the same company.
Contribution to the Blockchain Gaming Sector
Beyond game development, G4AL aims to enhance the blockchain gaming industry by launching a game engine for developers later this year. Manel Sort stated that the engine will allow external developers to transition their products to the blockchain while maintaining high-quality standards, addressing a gap in the current market.
