Decentraland has kicked off its Halloween-themed program, Halloweeks, which runs from October 5 to November 2. A key feature is a Wearable contest with a total prize pool of 30,000 MANA, awarded across six categories, alongside a series of horror films and events.
Halloweeks Overview
Decentraland has launched its Halloween celebration, known as Halloweeks, which started on October 5 and will continue until November 2. The highlight of the event is a Wearable contest with a total prize pool of 30,000 MANA, distributed among six categories: Slasher, Costume, Most Cursed, Creature Feature, Haunt Couture, and Folklore & Legends.
Contest Details
The submission period for the Wearable contest runs from October 12 to October 26. Each entry must be a published Wearable, and they will be judged on a 100-point scale considering originality, quality, technical execution, theme fit, creativity, detail, and presentation. Winners will be announced on October 27, with each category winner receiving 5,000 MANA.
Activities and Events
In addition to the contest, Decentraland has redecorated Genesis Plaza for Halloween, featuring new mini games and tasks that yield "haunted rewards." A fishing event, called the Cursed Pond, will take place from October 19 until the end of Halloweeks, where participants can win limited-time Halloween rewards, including Wearables.
The program also includes three horror film series showing classic films every week. "WatchParty Wednesdays" will screen one classic horror film at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. UTC, while the "Cult Horror Club" will feature double features on Fridays at various times. The final film series, "The Veil," will air episodes on weekends.
Final Party
A Halloween party, Spooky Takeover Tuesday, is scheduled for October 27 at the Genesis Plaza Theatre, featuring DJ Severus7. This event will also mark the announcement of the Wearable contest winners.
Decentraland is free to join, accessible via desktop or mobile apps, with options to sign in using Google, Discord, or email.
