Farming Season Freezes 5,578 Cheating Farms, Returns 7.2 Million SEASON to Reward Pool

On October 27, Farming Season announced the freezing of 5,578 farms involved in cheating, primarily operated by bot networks. The game has already moved 7,235,809 SEASON back into its reward pool, with an additional 2 million SEASON expected to be added shortly.

Cheating Farms Frozen

Farming Season has taken significant action against cheating practices within its ecosystem, revealing on October 27 that it has frozen 5,578 farms. The majority of these, 4,801, were linked to bot networks, which the team described as farms operated in batches by a single operator rather than individual players.

Additionally, 499 farms were frozen due to forged results including fake battle outcomes and unrealistically fast runs, while 278 farms were shut down for using scripts and modified game code such as auto-clickers and macros. The crackdown aims to protect the integrity of the game's reward pool.

Reward Pool Adjustments

The frozen farms had their balances moved into the reward pool 48 hours post-freeze, ensuring that the rewards are redistributed to honest players. The Farming Season team noted that every bot caught not only halts the draining of resources but also helps replenish the pool. They emphasized that their efforts are supported by a new pool balancer, though specific details about its function were not disclosed.

Fair-Play Policy

Farming Season maintains strict fair-play rules, prohibiting the use of automation tools. Players are permitted to operate multiple farms as long as each is manually played. The game continuously monitors activities on the server to detect and address any violations. Earnings caps are set based on Town Hall levels, ranging from $1.50 daily at level 1 to approximately $40 at level 5.

Changes to Game Economics

Recently, the game restructured the distribution of in-game spending, increasing the reward pool’s share from 50% to 75% while reducing the burn share from 50% to 25%. This adjustment applies to all in-game transactions and has been made to sustain the reward pool long-term. As of now, 255,199,250 SEASON, or 25.52% of the total supply, has been burned and verified on-chain.

Farming Season, which launched its first season on October 19, has seen rapid growth with around 20,000 active farms participating in various activities, including battles and races with substantial prize pools. The team concluded its announcement with a reminder to players: "Play by hand, play fair, keep farming."
